[0:00] You are right. I'm at the roundabout. If you can see that you are at the roundabout
or you are at a fork in the road with different options or choices,
then we can have a look at this.
When people are at this point, guess what?
You have created this for yourself and there is an option or an opportunity
in front of you that you genuinely wanted.

Are You REALLY Stuck?
[0:51] Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the Inner Power Podcast.
It is so lovely to have you here. And today, we are going to delve into the
big old aged question of, are you really stuck?
Now, this episode is inspired by
a lot of my sessions over the
time and a lot of the work that I do with my clients and
it's just so important to address this because I don't
know how many times I have come across it or whether it's
working with a client in a one-to-one session or whether I'm working with them
with one of my programs but this word stuck or the phrase is I'm stuck or I
feel stuck really pops up a lot of the time and it really has its own own misconstrued meaning.
So this is what we're going to have a look at and delve into,
because I'd love to know if you've caught yourself saying this,
or you have felt this in some shape or form.
But what we're going to do here is because anytime I hear this particular phrase
from a client, it's something that I always need to listen to.
And I always kind of say, okay, you've said this Now, I want you to explain
to me why you are feeling this way.
[2:15] Now, you can do this as you're listening along and you've got to think right now.
So think of it as you are here, you're listening to me in this episode and you can work along with me.
And I'm really hoping that this will help you just to shift this space for you.
It is not a nice space to be in. That's why so many of us end up there.
So just kind of visualize, take your time out, slow things down for yourself
and just visualize yourself as if you're sitting right opposite me right now
and I'm talking to to you as if you're asking me, go, hey, Pete, I'm feeling stuck.
What do I do? So we're going to work through this together. So I really want
you to come on this journey with me in this episode.
So please, if you do have the time or if not, come back and listen to this another
time so you can do this and I'm hoping it really help you.
So like I said, it happens a lot. So I'm asking you, yes, I'm asking you the listener right now.
I'm talking to you as I'll be talking to any one of my clients.
[3:12] When you are saying this or when you feel this, you need to now give me your
answer as to why you're feeling this, whatever it might've come.
So right now, as you're sitting here listening to this, you might even have
to go and grab a pen and paper.
If that's what you need to do, hit the pause button, go and do this so you can work through it.
But maybe you are already there and you are already visualizing or talking through
the answer to me as is. Now, of course, it's a little bit tricky.
I don't have you here and I don't have you live, so I can't hear your answer,
but it's fine. You'll still be able to work through this.
But here's the thing. Anytime I hear this, and I can almost guarantee you that
majority of people, not all of you, but the majority of people listening to
this and working through this question with me right now, I will find that you
are genuinely not stuck.
[4:00] This is the thing, because what happens is you've got to be so careful here.
And as soon as I talk to my clients about this and work through this with them,
there is automatically a shift.
When you start to tell yourself or you start to keep repeating in your own mind
or that self-talk about feeling stuck, you are almost inviting and creating
that energy for yourself.
And let's face it, it's not a nice kind of space or feeling or energy to be in.
Therefore, why do you want to keep repeating it to yourself.
The other thing too is because we have to really look at the word stuck.
And this is why. Are you really stuck?
The thing is, if you are saying this and you're saying this out loud, I feel stuck.
The truth is you are not stuck at all.
To even kind of have the feeling of being being stuck automatically tells me
that you have a chance, a choice, or an opportunity in front of you.
Otherwise, you wouldn't feel stuck.
[5:07] Stuck is a whole different ballgame. If you're feeling stuck because most people
come up with stuck because they're going, I don't know which way to go.
I don't know what choice to take. I don't know what opportunity is right for me.
It is more coming from a place of a lack of understanding or a place of fear
where you kind of worry and anxiety of going,
I might be making But the whole thing is, if that is you, that is not stuck.
That is fear. That is a totally different ballgame.
And as soon as you understand that, this is like, you do not want to go play
a game or play a sport and jump on the field when you don't even know the rules.
So this is where most people do get fall into the trap and stay in that kind
of bad cycle of self-talk and of course creates a bit of a spiral or downward spiral of energy.
It is really not a positive place to be purely because you are kind of playing
a game, but you're applying different rules. It's almost like saying,
well, we're going to play soccer, but with the rules of cricket.
And it really doesn't go, you know, it doesn't cross over very well.
And all of a sudden people go, what are you doing?
This is what's important. You've got to make sure that even in your own mind
and your self-talk, you're not crossing things over.
You need to know what you're dealing with. And this is what I tend to find with
a lot of clients with this word.
So you need to identify where it really is.
[6:32] It's always amazing because once you start to understand that if you are feeling
this way and you do have choices and opportunities in front of you,
you've got to start looking in this as a positive.
It is not stuck at all. And all of a sudden, you're going, I've got options.
[6:50] Options means not stuck. Stuck as when you're driving along the road and you
pull into a dead end street or a cul-de-sac, that's kind of stuck because you
can't go any further and you don't really have any options except to go backwards.
That is more the essence of stuck.
What's different here is you're driving along the road and you've hit a roundabout.
You have different options and exits. And all the feeling is,
is that I've got options.
I just don't know which one to choose. I don't know which one's right for me.
So, you know, you've got to ask yourself now in your life and whatever reasoning
or whatever answer you are giving me when you're listening to this episode,
when I originally asked you, you now need to come back.
And in this lovely metaphor of driving on on the road, you've got to ask yourself,
are you driving and have you genuinely hit that dead end?
Have you genuinely driven down that road and it's led you to a cul-de-sac?
Or have you driven along and all of a sudden you've hit the roundabout and now
you've got some different options and choices?
But the only thing is you don't know where those other exits and those roads lead.
Therefore, you feel like you're more frozen.
That's the difference. You are in analysis paralysis.
You're stopping yourself. You're not willing to move forward because you're
falling into that fear of making the wrong decision or going down the wrong path.
That's where most of my clients fall in.
[8:13] This is where it's beautiful. Once you get yourself out of that headspace and
realize you're at the roundabout,
the beauty here is you get to explore those roads a little bit further,
And there's always little clues and you can start to work down that and see
what is going to be a better choice for you or a better option for you.
But there is a big difference in your self-talk.
There is a big difference in the way you're going to approach the matter,
depending on whether you're in the cul-de-sac or the roundabout.
Out. So this is where we have to get really honest with ourselves.
And this is where I always say to my clients, like when you're working with
me, I am that magic mirror.
I am literally going to listen to you. I'm going to hold the space for you.
And like I'm doing right now, I'll be there and I'll be listening to everything
you're saying. And you're going to ask me that question.
Then all I'm going to do is repeat back and answer the question.
Honestly, that's why I'm the magic mirror because I literally get into your energy.
I'm literally feeling your energy. I'm working with your energy,
but I will give you the honest answer.
I always get it when I say to my clients and I say this, oh,
that makes a lot of sense.
It's like that whole Snow White story where the Queen Mother at the beginning
is, you know, with her magic mirror, hey, mirror, mirror on the wall,
who is the fairest of them all?
[9:29] At the beginning of the story, the answer is always, yes, it's you, my Queen.
And it's always that until that day, Snow White rocks up in the land and all
of a sudden the mirror is like, it's not you. and the queen chucks the biggest
hissy fit possible and gets really upset that all of a sudden it's not the answer that you want.
And that's what it's about. This is what it's always about when I'm working with clients.
It's like, I'm not there to give you the answer that you want.
I'm helping to give you the clarity and help you to discover what you need to know.
And this is one of those big ones when we're facing this question of, are you really stuck?
So the biggest thing is then we start to have a look at this word and this is
where we kind of to change this around.
So you can start to go, yes, options, choices, opportunities, that's really good.
Then there's another word, because quite often, once I work with a client,
and even with yourself right now, if you have genuinely come up with the answer,
as you've been listening along,
if you have genuinely come up with the answer going, okay, Pete,
you know what? You are right. I'm at the roundabout.
If you can see that you are at the roundabout or you are at a fork in the road
with different options or choices, then we can have a look at this.
When people are at this point, guess what?
You have created this for yourself and there is an option or an opportunity
in front of you that you genuinely wanted.
[10:55] And if you can't sense or see that right now, there is definitely an option
or opportunity in front of you that is going to help you to get to where you
need to go. That is just the way it works.
[11:07] Now, because of that fact, and again, in my world, when I'm working with people,
the statistics don't lie because I've done this enough times.
When we get honest with ourselves and we acknowledge we're at the roundabout, yes, we do have options.
Yes, we do have opportunities. opportunities, now we start to have a look at
what the real problem is.
The real problem is about like the fear of either making a wrong decision or
the wrong path, or maybe it's also like being judged. There's a whole bunch.
Regardless of that, because of course I can't get into this personally with
you right now, but I can help you to start see this.
What's important is we can start to look at another aspect.
The thing is, once you start to look at your options, you move out of this this
paralysis state, you move out of this stuck state,
as you've probably dubbed it, and now you're starting to already see what you genuinely wanted.
You can start to lean into and feel the options and opportunities ahead of you.
Now, what's important here is if you can have a look at these options,
then you'll start to feel something.
And what this is, is what the feeling you're really looking for to help you
understand, to help you make the best decision for yourself,
is you're actually looking for the resistance.
[12:31] That's the word, people, the resistance. You are not stuck. You never were.
You are literally just in resistance. There is a massive difference between those two words.
Like I said, when you're at a roundabout and you are just hesitating,
you're not making a decision, that's resistance.
You are resisting making a decision. You're not stuck.
It's a very, very big difference and you need to understand that.
The reason is what is causing that resistance.
You can have a look at like, you know, where is this resistance coming from?
And then all of a sudden you're going to start to find the answers.
As you explore, if you've come to that roundabout, you've kind of mapped out
what options are there. You know, let's just work with another example.
You might be for example, looking to change career or a job.
[13:20] And right now you're kind of going, you know what? I really love helping people.
And right now I'm thinking I might do nursing, but it could be for me and not
be, but I also like counseling, but also like doing this. So you've got all
these different options.
Which way do I go? But the whole thing is, it's like, you've got to have a look
at what's the resistance in the first place.
And that'll help you to find out which paths are not so good for you and which
path feels better for you.
This is where we bring in that beautiful term flow you need to feel the flow
so when i'm working with clients i'm listening to clients and helping to do
this like on an energetic level i am always.
[14:03] Tracing and i'm going down each road
and feeling how much flow is either in that road like is the the traffic flowing
or is it a traffic jam is there resistance is this not feeling good and that's
ultimately what i do and once you start to understand is what you're looking for is that flow,
you can start to go this is what's right for me and it comes back to those simple
tools of like you know it's all in the feeling it's not in your head guys it
is a feeling that you need to trust Trust.
You need to trust the feeling. Get out of your head and get back into your body and feel it.
Because as you start to think about your options or opportunities,
you will either feel like it's going into a traffic jam.
You'll feel yourself kind of tighten up. If you're really conscious,
you might even notice your face will contort and start going,
oh, you know, I don't like that at all. Or you might kind of go,
oh, well, yeah, I've always thought about that and that's the opportunity.
[15:07] Oh, I've been thinking about this for years, right? All of a sudden,
here it is in front of you and you're telling yourself you're stuck, which you're not.
So you need to feel these things out, right?
So this kind of leads us to another little segue here, which I'm going to touch on.
And we're going to start leading into because this is where
people get into their heads and this stuck motion comes up
and when you are feeling resistance if you're
saying stuck we now realize most of you are in
resistance not actually stuck we now need to
examine where this resistance is coming from and usually a lot of that resistance
is fear quite often or not when i'm working with clients we can identify where
this level of resistance and fear is coming from And we're going to do this
again here now as well, just to help you out.
There are three main areas that I identify where resistance pops up for anyone.
These are the common areas that I have found.
The first area of resistance, fear, worry, anxiety is the head area.
It's the headspace. The thing is, though, is if you are finding yourself overthinking
it, more often than not, you may start to find it's your past,
your past experiences,
your past memories.
[16:36] Your past energy is starting to come back and, for lack of a better term right now, haunt you.
You are allowing all of your past information and experiences to help you govern and make a decision.
That is not always the positive. When you're looking at the past,
it doesn't always have the best in mind.
It is just trying to save you from pain.
That's why a lot of people stop. So you'll have to be honest with yourself and
go, is there something in my past?
For example, we go back to changing job or career, you might go,
you know what, the last time I went looking for a job, the application process
was so arduous and it was just so not fun.
I applied for like 60 jobs. I struggled. I went to so many interviews.
I failed so many times and it took me months to get an actual job.
And then the job that you did get is a job that you end up hating.
All of a sudden, all these past experiences start to tell you that now looking
for a new job and taking which road do you wish to get off at the roundabout,
you're not even thinking about going forward.
All you're doing is thinking about the last roundabout that you were at.
[17:54] That last roundabout was just not a good experience.
Therefore, you're telling yourself, don't go into this roundabout.
Don't choose a road. Don't choose an exit because it's going to end up the same.
That is your past and your past experiences coming back to really kind of dictate
and take over your decision making.
Again, you have to be honest with yourself and going, is that what's happening?
Happening if it is then what
you need to do is you need to really come
back and center yourself take a couple of deep breaths and
going that is not what's going to happen this time if you can't do that it most
likely will because guess what guys if you're in that energy you're in that
space you are going to create that kind of outcome again so this is why we've
got to be super mindful of our words and super mindful of our energy.
We have to have that consciousness and that awareness and discernment about what's happening.
Now, here's the other part. Problem number one, where that resistance comes
in is the past because it's always a thing that we carry with us. It's a big backpack.
Then what happens is resistance area number two.
It's your future.
[19:12] It's amazing. If it's not the past that's going to influence our decision-making
or make us feel stuck and get into that resistance mode, it's going to be the future.
And what happens is, it's the fear of the unknown.
I don't know how this is going to pan out. I don't know if I'm going to get
the job. I don't know whether I'd be able to make the move.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know, what if, what if, what if, what if, right?
All of that kind of language is landing yourself in the future element.
And this is the hard part. What happens sometimes, and it's again,
a little bit tricky, but I have seen it, is using your past experiences to tell
you that the future is already determined or you're not sure because whatever else.
If you're using that language of of what if. Using that language of,
oh, I don't know. This is a positive.
I actually do believe it's a positive. It's just naturally because you're a
little bit scared because it is unknown.
This is telling you something really important. If you're using that language,
it is telling you, you need to learn something.
[20:22] That's what's important. You need to learn something. thing.
Whenever the resistance comes up around the future element, it is about learning.
And we have to go through it to learn it.
And once we've learned it, then the pathway or the road becomes clearer.
And so it's not about saying that it's not going to happen.
Don't let the past influence you because some people will do that.
You'll let the past dictate your future.
Don't do But then start to look at it going, hang on, the big what ifs and the
big is, is it because I'm not there yet and I don't know how it's going to pan out.
I need to learn this and I need to do this and go through this.
That's the key. That's the key with the resistance when it comes to your future.
Now, I can hear probably some of you going, well, you know, hey,
Pete, can I have resistance in both spaces?
[21:19] While technically you could, what I will say to that, if you are asking that
question as you're listening along here, I will say that you will have a bigger
portion in one area versus the other.
And wherever that bigger portion lies, that's the one that you focus on.
So, for example, you might be going, oh, what if I don't know?
But you know some of your past is because like every time i make a decision
it seems to be wrong right that's not so much the case you're justifying your
resistance of learning and having a go at the future it's not necessarily a
past problem you're just trying to justify,
not making the decision and not going forward and
learning and doing the action there's a big difference the
whole point here is it's like so even if you feel like you might have a bit of
both you have to start feeling and be honest with
yourself and go which one is more is
it more future-based or is it more past-based so
that's a big big area to look at i know it might sound a little bit confusing
but i'm really hoping that you are following along and paying attention and
that's okay if you do have questions feel free to dm and bring you know obviously
email in if you can because i love helping people with this it's a big area
that i do work with so they're the first two,
then comes problem area number three.
[22:40] Problem area number three comes from a much deeper, more pure place.
Problem area number three is about the energy.
It's about your spirit and it's about your soul.
And this is why it's a big one.
[23:00] This is keeping in theme with our road and our roundabouts to help explain where this one is,
this is that one where you may find you are pushing yourself and you are pushing
yourself to maintain to go down this road because in your mind and in your head,
you truly think, remember the word here, think that it is the right way.
Then it doesn't matter what you do, it seems nothing's turning out.
Everything seems to go to crap.
[23:35] It's as if you're going, what is going on here?
It may feel as though spirit and the universe is literally against you.
It's conspiring saying, how dare you, Pete? This is not the road that you're meant to get along.
And in a matter of fact, it's not conspiring against you.
It is ultimately trying to tell you. this is
this whole thing of where you know if you have your
gps activated and you've got like siri there
trying to tell you your directions this is
that moment where you know siri is universe and when siri is saying to you proceed
to the route proceed to the route make a u-turn make a u-turn proceed to the
route there's no other direction rather than like make a u-turn and get Get
back to where you were or get to where you need to be going.
This is a big highlight thing.
And so this is not resistance like those first two areas, like the past and your future.
This is more about you resisting a bigger calling.
This is about you resisting stepping up and owning your true path.
[24:44] Believe it or not, we all feel it. And what this resistance is, right?
This is number three. So the resistance here is about trusting the process.
That's right. Trusting the process. So when it comes to that pure place,
the energetic state, the spirit and soul, it's about trusting the process and
trusting that most innate part of ourselves,
that something greater is of value.
The hardest part here with this problem is all logic goes out the window.
And usually when you have to make these decisions or make plans according to
this, a lot of people around you won't understand them.
You might not understand them. So imagine trying to explain it to people around you.
But the whole point is you don't have to. You have to trust and go with it.
And if you really do, do, you'll be surprised what's going to happen.
If you are in this space, if you are facing problem number three,
or you believe that you are, it's a feeling.
You've got to lean into the feeling. You can't use your head for this one.
But if you are, and you are feeling that this is you, I just want you to remember
that when things feel like they're going wrong, it's not spirit and universe
conspiring against you. It is actually them helping you.
And this is where that comes to that beautiful saying of life is not happening
to you, life is happening for you.
[26:12] So that's what's really important. And it's just trying to get you back on track
where your energy and your happiness and all of that is in better alignment.
So if you are in this area number three, I ask you to take a very good close
look at yourself, have a look at where you're going and really tap into how
you're feeling and if it's 100% right for you.
You might have to trust there might be some moves to make, but you'll have to
go from there. But that is problem number three.
So hopefully now understanding this with our lovely road metaphors and directions,
roundabouts and Siri's talking to us, you can start to understand whether you are really stuck.
So the whole key thing here is, guys, is with this episode, I really do hope
now that you can see where you might be running into it.
You've got to ask yourself, remember, are you really stuck?
More often than not, no, you're not. You might be in resistance.
And then you can have a look at these resistance areas. So remember,
resistance area number one is your past.
Is your past influencing you and hindering you from actually moving forward
and making good decisions?
[27:19] Resistance area number two, your future. Is it the what ifs and I don't knows
that are really stopping you?
And this is just a little bit of fear of the unknown.
[27:29] But of course, when you're facing that, don't see it as an unknown.
See it as a learning. And if you can start to see it as what do I need to learn?
What do I need to understand?
You'll see what growth is ahead of you. And that's what's desired for you.
And that can help you to really start moving forward.
And of course, last, resistance area number three. That deeper, most pure part,
soul and spirit really telling you that, hey, you need a big ass rain check
and good big ass review of where you are because it may not be right.
You could be completely on the wrong road. You could be heading the right direction.
And of course, Siri saying, you know, make a U-turn or proceed to the root.
And that's the one you really need to lean into and feel.
Deal they are the three main areas
of resistance and if you can look at those and if
you can find an answer there guess what you are
not stuck at all and i really encourage you
to think about it and remember when you're using that word
i feel stuck or i am stuck question yourself very seriously and be honest with
yourself are you really stuck and of course if you found any is helpful or you
like and help again and remember feel free to dm or email me i'd love to help
you out and i'd love to hear what you thought of this episode as well.
Again, thanks for your time. I hope you listened along.
I hope you did find this helpful and I look forward to joining you in the next episode.
